Biography:

Mike Cain, pianist and composer was born in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. Influenced by the music he heard at home, Mike began playing by ear at the age of four. Within the year, he started studying classical music, and by seven was composing. Mike was introduced to jazz through pianists like Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett, and at fourteen began working professionally in the Las Vegas area. At seventeen, he enrolled at the North Texas State University, the first of many educational institutions. He is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including a grant from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

During the course of his professional career, Mike Cain has performed with many jazz artists of international renown including Billy Higgins, Marlena Shaw, Billy Hart, John Carter, Anthony Cox, Clifford Jordan, Dianne Reeves and Robin Eubanks.

He has now emerged upon the international jazz scene as an exciting talent.
